when i was in grade school,i remember my father when he gave me a basketball (pang PRO daw!)....that time PBA (Phil.Basketball Association) was in his peak...two rival teams are very popular... The Crispa Redmanizers & The Toyota and most of my family are die-hard crispa fan...that's including me...
i was very excited when i open the gift (they want me to guess pa kung what's inside...obvious namang bola...kasi bilog ang pagkabalot...hmmmp!) tsaaarannnn...a basketball.... a big orange ball (big?!!-doubt ako!) i ask my tito joel (fan ni fabiosa) why the ball is big...he told me na...it is PRO edition and i'm lucky 'coz the brand name isCRISPA!...
(crispa!-doubt ulit ako)
....hmmmm...natuwa naman ako and 'coz being a crispa fan with crispa ball...maybe i can play like a crispa player (fan ako ni atoy co)... even though...back on my mind that the ball is big (oversize sa standard basketball) i am happy when i play it...but when i dribble the ball i heard something inside whenever it bounces back and placed it to my ear...sounds like...toooiiinnngggkkkk!!! x5 echo...really...so funny...
one time we're playing and dying laughing inside the court
because of that funny toooiinnnggkkk sounds...lol!!! 
after few months...
i noticed the skin of the ball (orange color) is slowly peeling off -
as in nababakbak...sometimes nga....when i'm holding it,
i peel the skin unconsciously...(kaka-addict bakbakin...lol!) 
another month more...
my ball turns black (not my ball huh - the basketball)...putsa...nabalatan na po!!! and i have no regrets...coz' my basketball turns into volleyball and
sometimes we use it as salbabida...lol!!!
anyways...i remember all of this 'coz that ball is one of the
best gift from my father (thanks dad...i miss you)

...and from that ball i learn to play basketball, volleyball & learn to swim...today i bought basketball for my son kiko...and one comment i heard is... "isn't it small dad?"....(look who's talking...lol!!)

family activity is to try Dubai Metro Train (first time ng family ko)...

so after our lunch at Golden Fork Rigga, we started our trip
at Dubai Metro Rigga Station.

my kids and my wife is excited & amazed when we descend
underground for the train platform (ang lalim)

we stop at The Mall of Emirates Station for
window shopping and photoshoot...

after friday mass, my family arguing which mall to go...
Dubai Festival City or Dubai Mall...
and as expected we went to the worlds biggest shopping mall
and largest suspended aquarium in the world...."The Dubai Mall".

vr below is done by using string & spirit level as stabilizer
(almost same function of an expensive panoramic head &
tripod). enjoy!

this is part 3 of VR'ing Dubai Mall... my son kiko and my daughter pia drag me here at Sega Republic- Dubai Mall,
at first, i am hesistant to join them 'coz i know one ride is expensive... rules are: you have to buy first a sega card for 3 dhs. and you can load it with cash...if you load 70 dhs you will get free 10 dhs. and you can charge it thru your credit card.
Parents can accompany their kids inside and the best is you can take photo inside...lol!!!
vr below is done by using string & spirit level as stabilizer (almost same function of an expensive panoramic head & tripod). enjoy!

one of my plan is to VR the whole Dubai Mall...but how?
that was 5 months ago...

my first attempt...
'twas friday 9 april and my vr target is Gold Souk.
i want to be there as early as possible (less people walking means less stitching problem).
from financial avenue i took grand parking entrance & park my car infront
of gold souk entrance and with my heavy gears i walk
straight to gold souk atrium area, sit down for a while and start
to set up my gears.

while doing my stuff...i saw mall security talking to his radio
while looking at me...(parang gusto ng away...ang aga aga eh)...i ignored him and continue on my rituals (but i'm on alert mode).

as i position my tripod at the center of atrium...on my right side,
mall security are rushing thru me (ang bilis ng takbo e.) and when
they reach the place they start to question me like...

guard: "do you have permission from admin office to take photos?"

and i replied...

"none and i don't need it 'coz i am tourist here in Dubai"...

but they don't buy it...

guard: "sir, which newspaper or magazine you're working?"

ross : "this is my only my collection as hobbyist photographer"

guard: "looking at your camera and gears...you're not a tourist sir...,

you're a professional photographer...and if you want to

take photos you have to get permission from mall admin office"

ross ulit: " wtf...! don't tell me that you will not allow me to take photo?"

pasaway na guard: " yes sir"

the end...yes the end na po ang plan ko to vr the whole dubai mall.
that was my first try...! failure!!!

i shelf my intersest to vr the whole dubai mall for almost 5 months,
when we (my family) visit the mall...i am always wishing na someday
magkasakit sana lahat ng guard sa mall para makapag-vr ako...lol..

nung world cup nga sa ice rink....yes...world cup!
sabi ko sa'yo...gandang i-vr ng mga nanonood...lalo na yung mga
koreanong fans....hayyy ganda....lahat sila nakatayo at nakanganga habang
naghihintay na ma shoot yung bola sa goal....ang ganda talaga i-vr...

anyways....
i remember i saw a video clip sa you tube for tripod alternative...
by using a string & spirit level...hmmmm...i can use this technique
on my vr para sa mga location na may pasaway ng guard....

i went to ACE store in dfc to buy string, spirit level and velcro...


really...i'm so excited...and i just can't hide it....
after fitting all together sa camera ko...
i practice my vr using this technique.... and after 5 tries (trial & error)...finally...na convince ko na ang sarili ko na i can use this for vr...

and first location ko ay.....Dubai Mall...(humanda kayo...)

call time is 8pm but we arrived late 10:45pm (galing pa sa work)..,
some of our brothers & sisters went home...
some of them are preparing to go home...(kakahiya!)
but there's a saying..."better late, than never"... (nangatwiran pa...)
my kids are excited 'coz again they will swim sa dagat...
so we set up our tents & table plus...our food.

we are enjoying the program prepared by the elders...
playing, eating and chatting, singing and our kids shows their talents (galeng!)

i remember sometime 3 months ago i did vr photoshoot here
but all the images are not aligned...hayyy...! so depressing...!
but that night...i recorded the gathering in full perfect circle. enjoy! ___________________________________________________

i plan this shoot 3 months ago, i survey the place and found out that they are not allowing photographers.. as in " photographers with professional gears and with business intentions" to shoot the place...maybe for security reason or they dont want their image to use for business...

"...i dont know...bahala sila... but tonight i will shoot this place...
without the gears...."
"yess!! without tripod! without shutter remote! as in manual..."
...and i prayed "help me God."

instead of tripod... i will use string & spirit level for tonight VR photoshoot...

i learned this technique few years back but i didn't try it on still photo shoot

'coz i can shoot still image without blurring on different ways....unlike VR,

you're shooting multiple images on same horizon... ...

again i prayed "help me God."

on a concrete bench i sat down and set up my camera,

while mall security passed beside me and greeted me

good evening with smile... he he he ...lol...

they don't mind me for what i'm doing...

that's what i prayed for...

i finished 6 sets of VR and 2 of them are good to view...
