Full Circle 5th Night - MISA DE GALLO - DUBAI Menu?

Story Outside Full Circle
MISA DE GALLO - DUBAI
Ikalimang Simbang Gabi sa Dubai
St.Mary's Catholic Church Dubai, UAE
December 19, 2010

Whenever I enter St.Mary's Church gate...
many filipinos gathered at the back of the church and they are so busy...
busy selling food... meals and snacks...
and like us, who came from office will definetely
stop for a while and take a quick meal.

With my kids,
we will finish our dinner here at the back of the church
and I always tell them our Philippine Simbang Gabi Menu...
Since we are living at Sta.Maria, Bulacan...I think most of the
unique simbang gabi food is there...like...

The classic Bibingka na may itlog na maalat sa ibabaw
(sizes are small, medium at large),
another classic is Puto Bungbong (sizes are 3", 6" & 8")

tapsilog, tosilog, pakaplog (pandesal, kape at itlog),pansit luglog,
pansit bihon, pansit canton, chicharong baboy, chicharong bulaklak,
chicharong balat ng nokma, chicharong hangin ('lam mo yun),
kropek atbp...

Simbang Gabi Menu in Dubai is different....
syempre abroad tayo eh...foods like...
spaghetti, dunkin donuts, goldilocks cakes & pastry's, leche flan,
ube, hotdog on bun, hotdog on stick, meal pack (kanin at ulam),
kutsinta (malabsa),puto (buhaghag), soft drinks in can, bottled water...

Not only that...
christmas cards, prayer books, raffle tickets and many more...

And when you go outside church premises...
you can buy mobile load, pasa load and
they will offer you carlift (not for free of course..),
you will receive also a change visa flyers from our kabayan,
massage experts flyers from chinese chicks and many more..
hahahaha..lol...

Anyways...
I took this VR 360° Image for you to have an idea
what is our Simbang Gabi Menu
here in Dubai...Enjoy...

Full Circle 1st Night - MISA DE GALLO - DUBAI

Story Outside Full Circle
MISA DE GALLO - DUBAI
Unang Simbang Gabi sa Dubai
St.Mary's Catholic Church Dubai, UAE
December 15, 2010

We leave our house as early as 6 pm and hoping
that we can park our car near the church.
Together with my mother in law (on vacation)
and my 3 kids, we reach St.Mary's Church at 6:30 pm
and thank God got parking space near the gate.

Entering the church compound, people are having their
photos beside the big christmas tree...Church volunteers
are in a hurry preparing the cordons for the parishioners...

I placed my family beside simbang Gabi Altar and rush to my car
to get my couples for christ ID...why? 'coz i want to help
our fellow brothers in preparing the church for the mass...

With my camera around my body, i started to carry chairs,
getting traffic cones for cordoning the areas and assisting
sisters to guide people (98% filipinos) which area to
be occupy....It's very tough job - being a volunteer specially
on first night of Simbang Gabi....everyone wants to be near the altar.

Exactly 8:30 pm the programs starts...
Lighting of the Christmas Tree....programs hosted by Indian brothers
and Cristmas Carols rendered by Filipino Community...and of course
sing & dance by our Filipina sisters.

9:00 pm.Simbang Gabi starts...in God's grace,i was located inside the
perimeter of the altar, which is a very good location in shooting
VR 360° Image. I shoot 3 sets of VR...before the mass start, during
the entrance of the holy bible & during communion.

Enjoy!!!

Ikaapat na Simbang Gabi sa Dubai
St.Mary's Catholic Church Dubai, UAE
December 18, 2010

This morning i went to my favorite photoshop here in Dubai...
for my daughters camera & lens service. After they received my stuff
i just roam around inside the store and found out this "multi-arm panhead"

tiiiinnnggg... my brain bulb lit up!!!
i can use this in my new manfrotto monopad (light d life xmas gift)...
immediately i bought it and plan to use it tonight...

MULTI ARM PAN HEAD

8:30 pm, 4th Simbang Gabi sa Dubai
We set up our chairs (my 3 kids & my mother in law) at the
middle of church compound for two reasons...
first my mother in law wanted to be near the altar, and
second of course to shoot VR during the mass to cover the whole area.

Oppps...
Again, shooting vr on low lighting condition is very difficult, plus
you're doing it handheld in a shutterspeed of 2 sec. and most of the peeps are
in action...wtf (what the face!)

So, please excuse me on my VR Image below...i just want to record the
spirit of christmas in 360°Image and share it with you...Enjoy!!!

STORY OUTSIDE FULL CIRCLE

 Title: PHOTOJOURNALISM ON VR (PJ4)
Event: Oppps DP Training Batch 21
Location: Dubai Heritage Village,Dubai,UAE
Date: Oct.22,2010
Camera & Gears: Nikon D300,Sigma Fisheye Lens

_____________________________________________

Uuhhmmm...before i start...what the heck i'm doin'?
photojournalism at my age? dunno what is my future on this photography.

anyways...my father is a photojournalist since he was bachelor
and right now he is photo editor in one of tabloid newspaperin the philippines,
my sister once a university photojournalist
and today my daughter is also a photojournalists on her school...
and me...wanna be photojournalist.

kidding aside...
this photojournalism thing is something i can't resist,
i always envy the photog whose image occupy the front page of a newspaper,
i always admire the photog who captures the emotions and actions of a person...
occasionally (when invited) i shoot events and occasions, but i shoot them using
VR (Virtual Reality) Photography, i shoot peoples emotions, movements and
their unusual gestures.... which they call it an image story or story thru image
or photojournalism.

unconsciously...most of us (photographers) are having this distinct talent,
to shoot someone's emotions...not most of us...maybe filipino only.

why? 'coz we are all tsismoso and tsismosa, we will die if we can't
talk about something about him or her...lol...
sometimes if you look on your friends photo on a haggard looking...
you will crate a story out of it..."siguro katatapos lang"
or "siguro mahirap na siya kaya payat"...lol ulit

Photo Story... that's it...
telling a story thru image...
as a VR Photographer (my view) a single shot or still image cannot tell the full
story unlike on VR Images, you can view the image on full 360°view,
you capture the whole drama scene, the emotions and actions,
you can feel the scene on every turn  of image...
for me this is one of the powerful tool in photojournalism
(hopefully on near future).

Question is how you will capture the image on full 360°view?

Below is our 1st Outdoor Photoshoot, our job is to capture the moments & actions of

STORY OUTSIDE FULL CIRCLE
Title: LUNCHBREAK
Location: Dubai,UAE
Date: Oct.04, 2010
Camera & Gears: Nikon D300, Sigma Fisheye Lens,
String & Spirit Level

_____________________________________________

whenever the time reaches 11:00am, i start my countdown
for Lunchbreak and wondering what's inside my lunchbox...
hotdog, tocino, sinangag or maybe yung ulam namin 2 days ago.
(hehehe...mix ulam) and of course i always wait for her (crush ko)
to ask me if i want her food (never akong tanggi noh)...lol!!!
that was 30 years ago when i was in grade school.

kinakainan namin...good for us 'coz we need to bring ulam lang
and order all the free food and our lunch is done...
bahay kubo - what we call sa favorite canteen namin, giniling naman ang
favorite na ulam namin dito and after lunch we spent our time
chatting & showing our dance moves..lol!!! that was 25 years ago,
when i was in high school.

every 2:00 pm, we met at Lepanto St.(Loyola na ngayon) sa Recto, Manila,
came from school (tomjones na talaga), we have to line up to choose
our ulam like adobong manok, adobong atay ng manok, pritong manok na balot
Delicious Retaurant...but if you want to customize your lunch...you can
order food like patatim, lechong paksiw, bachoy at halo-halo for dessert
anyways, after you order and pay your bill....you have to wait..
opo...wait ulit for vacant table....hayyy...lunchbreak...that was
23 years ago when we (my wife and me) we're in college.

dubai today...my office lunchbreak is between 1:00 to 2:00pm...
i am always excited when the break comes...upon reaching our
pantry's door you can smell filipino food getting hot sa microwave,
you can also hear filipino voice chatting & laughing.our pantry
is almost only 9 sqmts in size but we squeeze inside
this room just to eat lunch together and to hear filipino updated
story around dubai, to hear new tsismis pinoy, kwentong pinoy,
jokes na pinoy, kwentong barbero....it feels like you're in
makati office lang...for me...LUNCHBREAK is a feeling that
brings me home...

Below is my intractive cartoon lunchbreak vr. enjoy!

note: text & images on vr are only my imaginations, i hope
i didn't hurt your feelings in anyways.sorry.

Title: Basketball (pang PRO daw!)
Location: Dubai,UAE
Date: Sept.18,2010
Camera & Gears: Nikon D300,
Sigma Fisheye Lens, String & Spirit Level (Tripod less)
_____________________________________________

when i was in grade school,i remember my father when he gave me
a basketball (pang PRO daw!)....that time PBA (Phil.Basketball Association)
was in his peak...two rival teams are very popular... The Crispa Redmanizers &
The Toyota and most of my family are die-hard crispa fan...that's including me...

i was very excited when i open the gift (they want me to guess pa kung what's inside
...obvious namang bola...kasi bilog ang pagkabalot...hmmmp!)
tsaaarannnn...a basketball.... a big orange ball (big?!!-doubt ako!)
i ask my tito joel (fan ni fabiosa) why the ball is big...he told me na...
it is PRO edition and i'm lucky 'coz the brand name isCRISPA!...
(crispa!-doubt ulit ako)

....hmmmm...natuwa naman ako and 'coz being a crispa fan with crispa ball...
maybe i can play like a crispa player (fan ako ni atoy co)... even though...
back on my mind that the ball is big (oversize sa standard basketball)
i am happy when i play it...but when i dribble the ball
i heard something inside whenever it bounces back and placed it to my ear...
sounds like...toooiiinnngggkkkk!!! x5 echo...really...so funny...

one time we're playing and dying laughing inside the court
because
of that funny toooiinnnggkkk sounds...lol!!!
after few months...
i noticed the skin of the ball
(orange color) is slowly peeling off -
as in nababakbak...
sometimes nga....when i'm holding it,
i peel the skin unconsciously...
(kaka-addict bakbakin...lol!)

another month more...
my ball turns black (not my ball huh - the basketball)...
putsa
...nabalatan na po!!! and i have no regrets...
coz' my basketball turns into volleyball and
sometimes we use it as salbabida...lol!!!

anyways...i remember all of this 'coz that ball is one of the
best gift from my father (thanks dad...i miss you)

...
and from that ball i learn to play basketball, volleyball & learn to swim...
today i bought basketball for my son kiko...and one comment i heard is...
"isn't it small dad?"....(look who's talking...lol!!)
